Problem with VisualStudio 10

Post by ccla »

Hello,
I've jsut started using VisualStudio 10 SP1, and I am running in a few problems. The first time I tried to burn a DVD the program faulted and created the following log:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Faulting application vstudio.exe, version 10.0.0.0, faulting module mpegin.dll, version 1.1.1.168, fault address 0x0005d8cc.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

So I rebooted the computer to try again, but now everytime I start VideoStudio I get a fault and the following log entry is created:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The application, C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 10\vstudio.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 03/12/2007 @ 21:11:47.250 The exception generated was 80000007 at address 00000000 (ntdll!KiFastSystemCallRet)

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not including the data on this last log because it is too long.

Basically I now cannot use the program anymore.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Thank you Steve. I will give it a shot tonight.

I followed the instructions to uninstall and then re-installed with no luck. The programs crashes at the same point in the rendering.
Any other ideas?

By the way I have other ULEAD products installed (the bonus CD with VideoStudio 10, and PhotoImpact 12).

Should I uninstall every program?

That sounds like you could have a bad clip. Have you ever been able to render without it crashing, or is this your first attempt?

Thanks,
I did not even think of it. I did use the same clip to burn the DVD so maybe that is the problem. I will try a different one tonight.

Nope, that was not the problem. I tried with other clips with the same result.

Possibly you have a conflict. Try Creating a Video Editing Profile

If that does not work then please view:

Sorry it took so long, but here is what I did. I purchased a separate HD for my laptop (a 60GB Seagate SATA) and installed Windows XP with SP2. I then installed PhotoImpact 12 and VideoStudio 10 Plus (with all of the additional programs included such as WinDVD, Cool 3D, and so on). I was able to burn one DVD. After that the same problem started appearing again. I then followed the instructions on creating a Video Editing profile. No luck, I still cannot create a DVD. What else can I do?

Apparently it was my burner that was causing the problem. I purchased an external Burner and now I can create the DVDs.
