Visual Studio 7 and 5 Mega Pixel camera pictures

Post by lungbarrow »

Hi

I've previously been using VS7 with film pictures which i've scanned in. Now that i have a digital camera (5Megapixel) i just use the raw images (stored as JPeg)

When i insert the 5 MegaPixel pics into a VS7 project the all appear fuzzy/blurry - the scanned pictures look ok (not sharp or anything) but these new 5 Megapixel pics look really bad by comparison.

IS there an explanation for this? What can i do to ensure the pictures are sharp in VS7?

I tried VS8 but have had other issues (the 5 Megapixel pics appear crisp) which i have sent as another post (vertical lines down the image when the DVD mpeg file is created).

Any thoughts on this?

Cheers

My only comment is that I found VS does not do a very good job at creating a slideshow video from digital stills. I have used several other programs that provide much higher quality results than VS, so I use them instead for that specific function.

Hi,

I've done several with no problems.

Are you looking at the VGA screen or a real TV?

I have to disagree...
I've made numerous still-based movies with various picture size from less than 720 to more than 5000 pixels per line and they all come perfect, including transitions. I used VS8 and of course it's really a movie, not a real slide show but quality is OK even when zoomed on the TV.
