NEWBIE TO DVD WORKSHOP NEEDS HELP

Post by MRDVideo »

I'm new to DVDWS but an older dog with respect to video editing. I have finished a project using CANOPUS EDIUS video editing software. I also use CANOPUS PROCODER EXPRESS to encode the video in preparation for DVD burning. But before I burn the dvd I want to author the dvd with DVDWS so that I can have a menu. Specifically, I cannot figure out how I use the output file from PROCODER EXPRESS as input to DVDWS. Also, when editing the video with EDIUS, I made use of markers to set chapter points. Will these chapter points be recognized by DVDWS?

I don't have Workshop installed on this machine, so I won't try to give you the exact details...

Go to the Edit Window. Open your MPEG file and drag it into the time-line (below the preview window).

You won't be able to import the chapter-points, but it shouldn't be to hard to re-create them if you know the starting-time for each. (There is one slightly tricky thing... Navigate to the chapter-point before you click Add Chapter. (The Add Chapter button will be grayed-out until you advance the program.)

In the Edit-Video window, there is a check-box that says Convert To Disc Template. Since you want to keep the Canopus encoded MPEG, Uncheck that box, and the video will not be re-coded. There is a similar check-box in the Edit-Audio window, if you want to keep the audio encoding.
