DVDs don't work in one player and not the next
I have a curious issue. I have used DVD Movie Factory to create a DVD (converted from Quicktime .mov file) I made a menu and the DVD works fine on my computer and on several DVD players, however; it does not work on several other DVD players. My first thought was that some of the DVD players are not DVD-R compatible, but I checked each one and all of them are DVD-R compatible. If anyone could give me something else to check I would be very grateful. I am anxious to get this resolved.
Well, you are correct that some players can't play "burned" DVDs.
Are you sure you used DVD-R blanks? ...Some players can play DVD-R, but not DVD+R, and vice-versa. Your odds are generally best with DVD-R, but sometimes you don't know 'till you experiment with each particular player.
You might have better luck with different brand of blank DVD... Not necessarily a "better" brand, just something different.
It might be imperfections in the "burn". You could try burning at a slower burn-speed (i.e. 4X). Also, if you used a high bitrate (higher than 7000kbs) you might try using a lower bitrate.
