error on writing file 0xc00d0bc3

Post by stuartl »

I'm looking for a product to transcode HDV MPEG files to WMV-HD. I'm looking at mediastudio 8 pro as an option. However everytime the file conversion or file create finished (This is a 7 minute 1080i file) I get the error 'error on writing file 0x00d0bc3' message.

I've tried using different profiles and even a diferent PC! nothing works. Is this because I'm using a trial version? (try before you buy you know) or is this an issue with HD file encoding in media studio 8 pro?

Any help would be appreciated because I rather like the speed of the transcoding compared to other products I'm trying, but I'd like to see the final results for quality.

regards

It is possible that you have the temp files set to the default C: place, with insufficient free space for them. If your basic project is n Gb, allow at least 2n Gb space for temp files, wherever you have placed them. Alternatively, it may be that the HDD is having a hard time doing its job.

Nope I've just checked that, temp folders it's trying to use are on 'd' drive with 15Gb to spare. Even on a 10 second file it gets to about 65% then throws out th error. Plenty of space on both drives at that stage!

Hmm, it's a bit bizarre. If I convert the m2t file to an MPG file first, (which I assume is just re-muxing as it's so fast), then convert the MPG to WMV it seems to work. At least it's gone to 100% and is now writing out the file. Anyone got any ideas about this? the original m2T if from a sony HDR-H7CE.
