Lots of questions, no help files?

Post by Shortz »

 Installed the demo.. would like to like this program but sort of frustrating from the git go.... Help files are not installed on the damno and have not been able to find a way to get them installed. My questions don't seem to provoke an answer here on the search...

One is how to visually crop a video size... I mean, crop vert, horz.... don't see a way.

I've managed to thump my way around a bit but help files being installed would be reassuring, a bit, before I buy the darn thing..

Can't even send a message to ttech support unless I have a reg number.. soo.... catch 22.. I'm not goonna buy less I like it, can't like it less I get help, can't get help, less I buy it...

To crop a video drop the video clip onto the OVERLAY track (the second track in the Timeline view).
From here you can resize the image by dragging the edges, top, bottom or corners.

Where are you looking for 'help' as I just looked in my full (paid for) version and could not find it.

You can download the user guide from www.ulead.com

Thanks, I fumbled my way into finding that option but what if you want to dub in something else into overlay?

Anyway.. the help file I'm thinking of is where you click the question mark... normally, that will que the help file. I get a "help files not installed" message.

I realize, this is only the trial version but isn't this supposed to encourage me to buy the full version?

My time is worth something and I've somewhat wasted an evening floundring because I can't find a decent help file...

Anyway, have not given up yet, I've used Ulead stuff for years, but we'll see..

Thanks for prompt response!

Hi Shortz,

It can be somewhat frustrating, trying to figure out new software without any help files. However you are currently at one the largest "help files" a program can have..;)

With VS10 Plus you have 6 Overlay tracks. The default is set to open with 1. To add additional tracks, open the Timeline view, then click on the 2nd from the right Icon just above the timeline. It is to the left of the Disc with 5.1 on it.

Also the manual is better then the help files, which as John pointed out can be downloaded from Ulead's website.

Thanks for the fast replies guys.... I'm gonna try digging into it again today as time allows.. Problem is, though I find it totally fascinating to work with video, it's only a small part of a small site I'm working on.. I've got a much larger fish to fry and it's needing attention first...

Thanks again for the prompt replies!
