Trouble burning to DVD - new user

Post by macytyson »

i've successfully created a video file of my wedding photos and am trying to use the 'create disc' wizard. i am trying to choose DVD as the 'output disc format' - only VCD appears in the drop-down menu. why is this happening?? even if i proceed to the next steps, it ultimately gives me an error message that i need a CD-R to record a VCD.

Firstly do you have a DVD Burner rather than a CD Burner?
Next do you have a full version of VideoStudio or what is termed a SE version (Simple Edition.)

The SE versions are those that you normally get 'free' with a piece of hardware such as a digital camera, camcorder or scanner. Many of the SE versions are limited in what they can do any may be CD only.

thanks for your reply. i definitely have a DVD-RW drive installed and
yes, i have an SE copy of the software which came with my digital camcorder.

can anyone else please verify that theVideoStudio 8SE software does not support burning to DVD?

thanks

Sorry but SE versions vary between vendors, so one persons VideoStudio 8SE could be very different to another vendors version.

Perhaps you may wish to try the 30 day free trial of VideoStudio 10+
