That was the point I was trying to make. Because Veoh apparently compresses the video, a wmv file will not produce a good video on Veoh, especially if it has a lot of movement. When Veoh compresses the, mov file it still retains much of the clarity, because of it's larger size to start with.sbiller1 wrote:I went back and checked the wmv I created in Windows. It is extremely smooth. The 16 minutes is about 195,628 KB. My guess is that Veoh is reducing it down too much which is causing the jerkiness. I'm uploading the same video to onetruemedia to see if their service is any better. I tried rendering a .mov file and it was huge -- about 30 GB.Black Lab wrote:If there is a lot of movement in the video than it will be more jerky and/or blurry than a more static video. I have found that .mov files give the best picture.

What compression codec would you recommend if any (Sorenson Video 3)?Black Lab wrote:That was the point I was trying to make. Thanks again,

One of my greatest passions is Star Trek.
I made (and I still do) a lot of music videos with Enterprise clips and songs I like. I know that there might be copyright issues but I share these videos just for fun, not asking for a cent.
Could they be accepted in your "collection"?
If you want to know what I'm talking about, have a look at http://nephtys59.altervista.org/videoclips.html
The latest one is "Love is a contact sport"

If it's made with VS then, sure, I'll post it. After you upload it to Veoh just send me the link.

Here is my second ever project using VS11+ and first time using video captured from my camcorder.
VS worked perfectly.
This job took me less than an hour to put together (I think it shows)
From 42 minutes of footage captured I only used 6.42 in the final cut.
I was being flimsy with the title cause I wanted to just play with title effects.
Sound is natural sound which is looped. What I mean by looped is actually just a sound grabbed from the camcorder placed end to end. I did this itentionally cause I was trying to convey the innocence of puppies playing in an industrial like area sound scape.
Anyway here is a link which I am waiting to early next month to up-load to veoh. (I have an account but I have run out of ISP monthly limit)

Any comments please feel free to PM me
Thanks

That 320x240 limit for these online video sites really bugs me. Even at the true 320x240 size, that's a pretty small window on most modern monitors, and a lot of detail intended for full-size viewing is lost. But mainly, by default they show the video in an enlarged window, and of course when you add pixels to make a picture bigger, it always looks like carp [sic]!
Here is a video that I uploaded to Google, originally in 640x480 size. If you view it with the option to "show at original size" it looks small at 320x240 but at least it's sharp. Anything larger is pretty fuzzy.

By the way, this is an intro video for a DVD that I've produced to contain all of the old 8mm films that I shot in the 1960s and 70s at various drag strips around the country. This is a similar video of my own car:

I sure was young back then!

This is why I use VEOH instead - you can use bigger file sizes.gordonwd wrote:That 320x240 limit for these online video sites really bugs me. By the way you ought to repost your videos as separate posts rather than tagging them inside this one where they will get lost.

Not to toot my own horn, but I just uploaded a new video. It was done completely with v10+. It makes extensive use of overlay tracks, video filters and special effects. The backgrounds, screen wipes, revealers, and instrumental music are all from Digital Juice. The 3D titles are from Xara.

I think you need to create an independent post in the Samples Forum
Those titles are amazing! and I strongly suggest you keep an eye out for our forthcoming forum competition. I am sure you could be a winner. Cannot give out any details yet because we are still in the discussions stage about the format.
