Post by Black Lab »

In order for users of VideoStudio to share their works, ideas, tips, etc., I have started a VideoStudio Channel on Veoh.com. Veoh is similar to the likes of YouTube and GoogleVideo, with the exception that it allows videos of unlimited length to be uploaded, giving users more freedom and flexibility.

For those that are interested in contributing please follow these few simple steps:

1. As with other video sites you must first register with Veho before you upload (it's free). If you register with the same or similar name that you are registered with this forum then anyone with a question about your video can ask you thru this forum, so everyone can benefit.

2. Upload your video, making sure you use "videostudio" as one of the tags (for easy searching). Describe any tips or effects that viewers might be interested in.

3. After you have uploaded your video, send me a PM with a link to the video so I can add it to the channel (I am the only one who can add it to the channel, so you must make me aware of it).

I am open to any and all suggestions.

May I suggest something.
Luckily the internet is evolving fast and we no longer have to settle for crummy flash videos.
It's pretty frustrating spending a lot of time on a quality video
only to see that quality completely go down the drain by the flash conversion.

Here's the alternative, pretty much the same as Youtube, Veoh, etc,
but with the main difference that these guys offer full quality streaming Divx:
Http://www.stage6.divx.com/ (An initiative of the Divx.com group).

Streams are fast and you can even download the files with a single click.
I've downloaded full quality 700mb files in less than 30 mins.
It just takes a small install of a browser divx codec to make things work.

I have posted over 200 musicvideoclips in this channel:
http://stage6.divx.com/TV-Jungle_Music_Videos (Mainly 80's pop & rock)
Simple conversions, no UVS edits.

I am currently filling up this channel with reggae videos which will have
a UVS editted outro.

Jeff, it would be great if you could set up a Ulead Videostudio channel there. ;)
Greets,
Bushdoctor.

Has it got to be in Divx format? I`ve just loaded a VCD format file.

Thanks Jeff
I`ve put one on and hope to post a few more.

Boeing Video

Post by Howell »

Found that to be very interesting as I have worked in engineering all my life. The leadscrew looks like a ball bearing nut and shft assembly which I am familiar with, used on seam welders. I will have to dig out some video I did in work.

Thanks for a look

Several new videos have been added to the VideoStudio Channel showing many examples of what VideoStudio and Cool3D can do. Some of the graphics are examples of Digital Juice. Thanks Dave (GilbyTwins) for your contribution.

Best format for uploading to Veoh?

Post by sbiller1 »

What do you'll recommend for the highest quality on Veoh? I uploaded using the best quality wmv setting and the video is a bit jerky.

Thanks,
Sam

If there is a lot of movement in the video than it will be more jerky and/or blurry than a more static video. I have found that .mov files give the best picture.

I went back and checked the wmv I created in Windows. It is extremely smooth. The 16 minutes is about 195,628 KB. My guess is that Veoh is reducing it down too much which is causing the jerkiness. I'm uploading the same video to onetruemedia to see if their service is any better. I tried rendering a .mov file and it was huge -- about 30 GB.

With the *.MOV format, and having a file size of 30 gig, what frame size are you using? That almost seems like you are using a full size resolution of 720 x 480. Since you are intending for it to be viewed on the web, your frame/resolution should not be any larger then 320 x 240.

You should have several options to customize your MOV file. I just done a quick test using a 64MB, 18 sec clip. The MOV file created was only 3.5MB. So playing with the Options you should be able to get a much smaller file size, with good quality.

You are correct. I was using a 720x480 resolution. I'll scale down and retry. Thanks for the info.
