Videostudio 10 plus and MOD files

Post by BMC Tackle »

I am getting ready to purchase the VS 10Plus but I have some questions. I am primarily purchasing this software to download .mod files from my JVC Everio 20 camcorder into my pc. I believe that the disk that comes with the camcorder does that via the USB 2.0 cable the camera comes with. Once on my computer I then need to convert that file into any format that will play on Windows Media Player. (.wmv)

I am doing some instructional videos that I am going to upload into my hosting server, then through the use of a link the customer will be able to play the videos on their pc. I have been reading some of the forums, and it seems there are issues with audio, etc.

Just curious if Ulead's VideoStudio 10 Plus will do what I need it to do? I am definitely not experienced in any of this. I need software that will be easy to use. I don't want to buy something that is not going to do what I need it to do, so I figured I would post here first and get some answers.

You guys all seem to be experts with this stuff!!! All replies appreciated!

BMC..the short answer is No..UVS10 does not like MOD files. But, there is software out there that can convert the MOD file format to a format that USV10 can use. The JVC Everio camcorder has been the subject of several discussions on this forum.
