Successfully burning a movie disc,-How?

I hav a Movie factory 3 trial software to create movie discs off of dvd
roms. When I have the burn to disc checked after downloading and then push the out put button I get the error The disc is not empty or ther is no disc in the device, try again. I do again, and do have a dvd rom disc in my tower for E, what can I do to correct this problem? I do use a blank
new disc by the way.

You cannot burn a disc if you do not have a writer. DVD-ROM drive is not a writer.

Also you will need to have some DVD writable media in the writer.

Please check if you have a writer or not.
