Activation does nothing?

Activation does nothing?
So I got the trial of WinDVD 8 a couple of days ago, and I just now purchased it. I followed the activation instructions, and it happily told me that activation was successful, and to restart the application. Well, I close it and re-open it, and wham-bam...nothing happened. It's still the trial. I've tried this 2 or three times, but it's still the trial version every time. I tried downloading and installing the 8.006.104 patch, which went ahead and confirmed that it wasn't activated by refusing to install. The customer support section seems devoid of useful information, just links back to the instructions I followed for activating it. I noticed that an executable was mentioned somewhere, but no additional downloads have presented themselves. Do I need to re-install the trial version? What's going on?

When you tried to activate the WinDVD trial, right clicks on the WinDVD program icon and select "Run as Administrator" then continue the activation process.
If this does not help, you still need to contact InterVideo Support for further assistance.
