Greetings...
I am trying to make an image video. The images are all various sizes and I want to be able to set the aspect ratio so they dont distort. I have tried right clicking on the time line and the image, Media Source Option.... Then stretch mode....keep aspect ratio is greyed out. Any other thoughts.
Thanks for the info...

Static Motion Path?
You might create a set of static Motion Paths, maybe one for each of the most common resolutions in your images, as well as Portrait vs. Landscape. By naming them well, you could then just drag-n-drop them to the images on the timeline. For example, you might have a set like:
P_640
L_640
P_1024
L_1024
where "P" is Portrait and "L" is Landscape, and the number gives the resolution along the designated axis (i.e. P_640 is a Portrait that's 640 tall).
mTp

Re: Aspect Ratio
Had this happen to me, simply creating a new project fixed it.Jonzinator wrote: Media Source Option.... Then stretch mode....keep aspect ratio is greyed out. Any other thoughts.

Re: Aspect Ratio
I am up against the same thing.. first thing I need to do is bring in a ton of stills all over the map resolution wise.. is there not a way to auto scale them into the current aspect ratio? I don't want motion or zoom, I just want to scale them on the horizontal, keeping the aspect ratio on the verticle, ala Studio or Liquid. I've been staring at the video editor for two hours and heck if I can figure out how to do this easily.. over 100 stills from half as many sources.. static motions would seem like a ton of work.

MonroePoteet is right you can apply the Moving Path like the Center option in the Picture in Picture folder, drag it to the image file then check the Keep Aspect Ratio in the new window. You can also check the Interpolate frame size.. to resize your image into desired size. And check the background color from the Preferences.
Unlike VideoStudio, the program don't have the Image resampling option in it's Preferences. So there's no auto scale when importing an image clip.

Another way would be to create a series of macros in PI 10. For example, if one of your image sizes is 2048 x 1600 pixels with an AR of 1.28 and you want it as 720 x 480, you resample to 720 wide, with keep aspect ratio, then crop 42 pixels off the top and bottom and you will be left with 720 x 479 (there are ½ pixels involved), save. After the macro has been written, it's just a 1-click job to do the same again. Alternatively, if you don't want to crop, you resample to 480 high and will have a small black border left and right.
