Trimension DNM in WinDVD 8 doesn't work with DVDs
I have Windows Vista Premium.
Every time I have tried to enable Trimension DNM in WinDVD 8, the video and the application freezes. I have tried to install the so-called working patch (which by the way can only be installed on a PREVIOUS version of WinDVD 8, not the current version), but to no avail.
I have tried almost everything to try to enable this feature when playing DVDs, but nothing works. I have tried to clean install Vista, and install WinDVD 8 after installing my audio and video cards, but to no avail. I have tried to run WinDVD 8 in Administrative mode. I have tried to run the so-called patch in Administrative mode, but to no avail. I have tried to 'force weave' the video, instead of using the 'auto' setting, but to no avail.
Nothing works!
WinDVD 7 has no problems at all in enabling Trimension DNM with DVDs.
WinDVD 8 has no problems at all in enabling Trimension DNM with video files.
The issue is SOLELY in using the Trimension DNM feature in WinDVD 8 with my DVDs.
Please HELP!!! I am SO desperate to get this feature working with my DVDs in WinDVD 8, and the so-called PATCH they offer as a so-called solution is ABSOLUTELY USELESS!

I have done that and I still haven't receive a response in weeks!
I even tried calling the so-called non toll-free customer support telephone number, but to no avail. I don't even think they even acknowledge that the issue even EXISTS! They kept on insisting that the so-called PATCH would fix the issue, but it simply doesn't! First off, the so-called PATCH won't even install in this current version, and when it does install in a previous version of WinDVD 8, it simply DOESN'T WORK!
I kept on telling the guy over the phone that I have VISTA PREMIUM, not XP!
This may or may not be an issue in XP, but it is DEFINITELY an issue in Vista and I'm surprised why more consumers of WinDVD 8 with Vista haven't complained about this.
Right now I just have WinDVD 7 installed. Everything works PERFECTLY in WinDVD 7. No problems with Trimension DNM at all when playing DVDs. It is just an issue with WinDVD 8 when playing DVDs.
I'm not going to re-install WinDVD 8 until a working solution is offered or they come out with a newer version. I'll stick with WinDVD 7 for now, but I definitely want this issue RESOLVED, or they will lose me as a 5-YEAR customer when WinDVD 9 comes out! I didn't pay for this upgrade to WinDVD 8, and not have a prominent feature not working (Trimension) when it actually works perfectly in earlier versions.
Any suggestions?
I've tried the 'force weave' option...that doesn't work.
I've tried installing WinDVD 8 soon after a clean install of Vista...that doesn't work. So I don't think it's a driver conflict...besides Trimension works perfectly in WinDVD 7 when playing DVDs...why is WinDVD 8 having this problem?
I've tried running WinDVD 8 in 'Administrative Mode' in Vista...that doesn't work.
I've tried the so-called patch offered to supposedly FIX this problem...that doesn't work....never have...NEVER WILL!
I've tried running the so-called patch in 'Administrative Mode'...that doesn't work.
I've tried running the so-called patch in the earlier versions of WinDVD 8...the so-called patch will install...but STILL....the issue REMAINS...it doesn't work!
I'm down right now to basically waiting for an newer version of WinDVD 8 that will actually FIX this issue in VISTA, and who knows how long that'll be , with the impression that they don't see this as a issue at all!
Again, if it doesn't get FIXED or a working solution offered, I'm done as a customer of WinDVD! I've been a customer since late 2002 when WinDVD 3 came out, but no more if this issue doesn't get acknowledge and FIXED!
I'm not going to e-mail technical support again , I've done that, and it's a FRICKIN JOKE! Weeks have gone by with NO RESPONSE or ACKNOWLEDGEMENT whatsoever!
Hopefully someone here can confirm for me that the problem exists in Vista and offer a working solution if they've found one.
Remember the issue is ONLY with playing DVDs (movies) in WinDVD 8 with Vista! If you click the on/off button to enable Trimension DNM, the video and the entire application will instantaneously FREEZE every single time, forcing you to close and re-open WinDVD 8 to use it again!
Thanks in advance if there's a solution to this problem.

Sorry for the long winded rant, but i felt i had to get my issues and solution attempts out with that previous post.
If anyone has WinDVD 8 and Windows Vista, could you at least confirm for me that I'm not the only one having this problem?
Could you play a DVD movie and attempt to enable Trimension to see what happens to the video? Does everything freeze like I've experienced, or does it actually work?
Thanks in advance, hopefully I can get some feedback within the next couple days.

Windvd 8 crashes when using Trimension
Hello all,
I'm using Vista Home premium and I've reinstalled Windvd several times already, following the uninstall process mention in one of the threads in this forum.
When I enable trimension I get an MFC error and Windvd just freezes. I hope somebody can help. Thanks.

Hello miketek,
In Vista MCF Error goes away after installing the newest audio drivers. But Trimension doesn't work. There is no video quality change between "on" and "off". So I can use WinDVD 8 with Trimension in Windows XP only!
And you should update your graphics drivers and install all windows updates.
