bad disc or what??
i cant get my new ulead studio 8.0se dvd to install and windows dont recognise software when trying to install drivers?? help
You might have a bad disc.
But, what version of Windows are you running? If you are on a new Vista system, I wouldn't expect VS8 to run.
If it is a bad disc, I doubt that Ulead will replace it, since the SE versions come "free" from a 3rd-party hardware manufacturer. You will probably have to return the entire package to the retailer, or try to get a copy from the hardware manufacturer.
FYI - Your disc may be "new", but Video Studio is now at version 10.

Why not just download the VS10 trial?

What kind of hardware do you have connected to USB2? You are usually better-off using the special capture software that came with your hardware for the capture step. If you are using an analog capture device or hard-drive MPEG camera, it probably came with some capture/transfer software in addition to Video Studio.
If you do have a MiniDV camera, most users have better luck with firewire. USB is not quite fast enough for DV.
