Hi Everyone
First post after about 12 months happy rendering!
I have been using VS8 with my Canon DV as a pass thru to convert VHS to DVD. One of my probs is that I use Win ME with its FAT 32 file system limitations. Although individual mpeg files created cannot exceed 4GB I have been using a workaround which has worked for me for ages.
I create separate mpeg files for individual TV episodes which are less than 4GB and then create a combined TS folder which I reduce with Shrink. On this occaison I created 4 such mpeg files, each 60 mins long and about 2.2 GB. (use PAL DVD resolution with 6000kbs compression)
However, on this occaision the video file failed at 99% with the above error code. The combined size of the 4 files would be about 8.8GB.
Is there an upper size limit for TS folders?
I also tried to create an ISO image but this also failed at 99%. (having said that the VS8 predicted abot 18Gb needed for this!)
Incidentally as soon as I deleted one of the files it converted the remaining 3 files to TS (6.6Gb)
I use ME and have oodles of hard drive and RAM available.
Bit frustrated so would appreciate any advice.
Thanks for your time.

Hi long time no hear
I was using VS 9 and managed to create a TS folder 9.5Gb.
So if there is a TS limit you haven¡¦t reached it.
Do you think you have a corrupt Mpeg file?
Also
If you are using Shrink to fit to disc then the program is recoding the files to about 2000kbps (that¡¦s an estimated guess)
Then why don¡¦t you capture to 2000kbps allowing each 60 minutes to be 1 Gb.
Use constant bit rate.
You wouldn¡¦t have to render 8 Gb, would save a lot of time.
Just a thought.
