Serial Number Question?

Post by zapper »

I know the serial number to the Ulead DVD movie Disc Creator 3 is on the sleeve of the disc not on the User's Gudide, right? :x

Can't answer that, never had an original disk. All my versions are ESD (downloaded) versions. Why do you ask?

If you have it installed, you can find your serial number in the Help >About menu. If you want to reinstall it and do not have the serial number, you may be out of luck unless you have registered your version with Ulead when you got it first. In this case, log on to the Members area on the ULEAD website with your credentials, i.e. email address and pass word, and retrieve it from there.

Correct. There is a link on this page that shows you where to find the S/N for each product.

Or, if you registered your copy with Ulead, sign-in here, and you will find a link that will list the serial numbers of your registered products.

Guess that I am SOL, thinking of getting Movie Factory 6 Plus. How do you guys learn the software without the users guide? Will give it a shot to Ulead It is a $10. savings.

If I am not mistaken must have the software already installed to get the S/N.

Thanks for your replies.

I'm not sure if I read you right. Are you thinking of getting the upgrade to DVD MF 3 DC and don't know your serial number? It's not possible to install without a serial number with the later versions. Some of the downloaded full versions have the serial number embedded also and do not require you to put it in.

I have not tried it but I'm almost certain that you cannot install the upgrade to MF 6 without the serial number of the qualifying product.

You are right, cannot install the upgrade without the S/N of the MF3, you know how luck goes you have something for 3 years, like MF3 and now that I need the S/N for it cannot find it. Can find everything else do have a 18 digit number that don't recall what it was for so I thought that that was the S/N "wrong".

Will wait until the Trial version is around. By the way asked Ulead if they had my registration for the MF3 & s/n nothing to lose.. haven't heard anything yet.

What makes you think Ulead would have kept track of your serial number? They don't. Even if they did, why should they now pay someone for going through these records to help you out? If you didn't record it nowhere and didn't bother registering it at the time, in which case it is still in your members area and could easily be retrieved, I'm afraid, you are out of luck and will have to buy the full version. That doesn't need any previous serial numbers.

You are not the only one having to face this, even yours truly had to once, just to find the darn number a little later  Since then, I do keep track of them. I suggest you do the same.

Usually do, just slipped on this one, oh well it's just money. Sorry did not noticed but do you have the MF6 Plus or an earlier version? How do you Like It?

Is it somewhat easy to navigate through the software??

I have used ULEAD programs for around 7 years now. Have only used VS5 once in the past and switched to MediaStudio Pro 6.5 right away. Have upgraded to newer versions whenever a feature tickled my fancy, from 6.5 to 7 and now to MSP 8. Have started with PhotoImpact8 and used every new version of that, now on PI 12.
Have used PictureShow and PhotoExpress but no longer. VS10+, DVD MF and MSP make better slide shows and I have those too.

DVD MF I have used since version 2, upgraded dilligently to every new version of MF but used the DiskCretor versions of MF 3 and 4. Now I have MF5 plus but am not in a hurry to upgrade to MF6. I don't see the need because I, sure as hell, will not be "upgrading" to that "WOW" experience Vista in a hurry. XP does me fine and so do my current versions of Ulead. I have no major issues with either, why change and jump from the frying pan in to the fire.

I do have a machine though entirely dedicated to Ulead programs. No word processing, no games, no internet, no network, no virus scanner, no fire wall not even the XP Pro SP2 one, disabled that also. No nonsense.
