Hi

You can update to the latest version, 10 at the moment, at a cost.

Version 11 may be launched shortly,

It may be worth waiting a little longer for VS 11??????????????

This would be dependant on the new features, because the VS10 is now at reduced price IIRC. I think I remember 10 GBP off on the UK site?

Is there any place where we can have info about VS11 (magazine preview, press release?, video forum?, Ulead web page?).
This my understanding of it.

I would just keep an eye on Ulead's site. They'll make a big deal about it when it's ready.

I'm sure some of our more senior forum members (relax, I wasn't talking about your age  ) have been beta testing it, but their lips are sealed. Top secret stuff, ya know.

And to think we know all about new cars more than a year in advance.

Now that we are in the release "month", March to April, it should begin to leak. All we know is it will support more HD formats, and that's not an argument for this 4:3 user.

What exactly do you mean by is it possible?

Do you want to know if projects created with v8 can be loaded using v9 or v10? I think that answer is YES but the other way is not always possible (ie load a project created with a higher version with a lower version of VS however v10 has the ability to save a project as a version 9 project).

You can't overwrite an earlier version with a later version like you can with some other software. If you install a later version the earlier version remains installed on your PC (unless you uninstall it).

You can have multiple versions of VS installed on the same PC. I have versions 9 and 10 installed.

I kept VS9, because some of the things I liked. Hopefully they will put the some of the transistions and templates back in 11. I would hate to keep 3 versions on my computer. I have opened vs9 files in 10, but never seen a need to go backwards. Templates from 9 seem to work fine in 10. Yes I know the post to copy some of the transitions over, bu more headache than it is worth I think :)

I presume the developpers think the same  I doubt that we will see any of the old templates incorporated into the new versions. I for one would make my own rather than depending on some programmer to have the same ideas as mine but, hey, that's just me, right
