Color hue changes while editing

Post by greg mgm »

A new problem showed up recently right after I installed a new Ge Force 7600 video card. (It replaced the on board graphics) When I click "play" while editing, the color hue of the preview screen becomes more saturated, mostly the reds become way too intense. If I hit "pause" or "stop" the color returns to normal. This happens 50- 60% of the time..(wierd) I assume since this started after the video card install, I need to change the card settings somehow. Has anyone run across this?

Have you checked the Ge Force web site to make sure you have the latest drivers.

Did you read the manual to see if you have to change your monitor settings or disable your onboard graphics.

Also..... try taking out the VideoCard and re-inserting it in case it is not seated correctly.

I haven't checked for updated drives, but I'll look into it tomorrow. I'll re check the manual and re seat the card also. Thanks for the replies, and I'll post the results tomorrow as well.

Checking for updated drivers is highly recommended. I recently had a major computer crash, lost the mobo, 1-HDD, and the video card (Nvidia). It was still under warranty so they replaced it all. However they did not ensure that the drivers were up to date. The moment I got my machine home I checked and found that I needed to update my video card drivers.

I did the card reseating and updated the drivers, but it didn't change anything. I also read through the manual, and apparently I did the install correctly..................So, after all that, I find out that the "TV/ Video" setting in the Nvidea control panel needed tweaking, and it solved my problem. Sometimes it's the simple things I miss!!! Thanks a lot for the replies! Greg

It's amazing what you learn when you read the directions.

I had a lot of confusion about the differences between NVIDIA and NView until I read both of the manuals and made a comparison chart for myself. I think the new Forceware package is trying to move them together but it is still a challange.

Furthermore, I set up a couple of "Desktops" (with different screen resolutions) - and I've had nothing but trouble with it. Sometimes NView Desktop Manager disables itself and I lose the Desktop choice (indeed, I lose most of the NView functions.)

One thing I discovered: If you want to use transparent windows, you can't have ULead QuickDrop running.

I'm right in the midst of trying to work out all of the "bugs."
