I've just installed a new Matrox Parhelia APVe. I'm using a TV to display preview and everything works great, but I do have one question. The contents of the preview window only display on the TV when the preview is actually running (instant play mode) or when I click and hold on the job bar's slider. When the preview is paused, the TV goes black. Likewise, if I click and hold on the slider, I see an image but when I let go, the TV goes black.
I'm using MSP 7.3 and the "Scrub on preview window" box in Scrubbing Options is NOT checked (checking it made no difference). When I preview in filters and effects dialogs, I'm able to see a still frame on the TV without holding the slider.
I've gone through the tutorial on Ulead's site and have followed it to the letter. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Preview doesn't "stay" on external monitor
I have MSP 8, but, I found, that, instant preview doesn't quite work, well sort of. Actually, it is working as designed, but, since the video isn't completely rendered, you get what is available. I use instant preview ONLY on the PC, and when I want to send it to the TV, I turn off Proxy, and instant preview. This will make the video render first, then, when played back to the preview device, works fine, in my case, fire wired through my camcoder to my TV.

Hi. I think one of d ideas behind ext. preview, esp to TV. is to immediately avoid ''almighty'' rendering & see d actual work. Then if I have to wait d lond hours again for rendering b4 I get ext. preview to my TV, I don't think it's worth, afterall.MrAmigo2121 wrote:I have MSP 8, but, I found, that, instant preview doesn't quite work, well sort of. If I just activate Instant playback with good video card that has VIVO (e.g DAC200) I think I should be able to have my instant preview without any hitch.
Thx.

Your experience of the TV-out mechanics is identical to mine. I use MSP 8 and Matrox Parhelia.nightmayer wrote:I've just installed a new Matrox Parhelia APVe...
I prefer that it works the way it does, rather than leave an image onscreen, because I work with field-based video. The flickering would drive me nuts.
