UVS10+: How can I access the auto-saved DVD menus?

Post by WonderfulLife43 »

OK, I broke down and purchased the Boxed Upgrade CD for uLead Video Studio 10+. I also installed the update patch. I'm following the tutorials, and generally having quite a bit of success. However, I have one nagging question:
How can I access the auto-saved DVD menus that are created while executing the Create Disc task?

I'm probably like most people, as I painstakingly go thru and edit the video, create chapters, add special music, select just the right thumbnail and background. Then, when I think that I'm finally done, I Create Disc (and I see the Saving Project progress bar doing its thing). Later, when I sit down and watch the disc, I see a couple of things that I'd like to update. So, instead of going thru the entire Create Disc process again (Create chapters, backgrounds, thumbnails, customize menus), I'd like to find and update the auto-saved DVD menu. However, I can't find it!
Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

When you close the Burn window, yes, it says it is saving. What it is saving I'm not sure because, as you've learned, it doesn't save everything. What you have to then do is save your project again. That will save your menu, chapters, etc.

UVS10+ stops responding when Previewing DVD menus

Post by WonderfulLife43 »

Black Lab, Thanks for the quick response. I thought that might be the answer :-(

So, I went back to Create Disc with the same mpeg2 video file, customized it completely with background music and images, 8 chapters (2 more than before) which now results in 3 Chapter menu pages instead of 2). All of this went well, so I clicked on the Remote Control to see how it worked. All of the menu functions worked as expected. So, I decided to play some of the video, to check out the 'next chapter' button. This worked for awhile, as I was viewing Chapter 6, and pressed the Next Chapter button to jump there.

Now for the problem, the Preview window immediately went blank, and my CPU usage went to 0. I let it sit for several minutes without any changes, so I clicked on the 'X' in the upper right corner of the Preview panel, and got a 'program is not responding' message from Windows, at which time I just lost all of my customization.

I rebooted, I went thru the same steps again, and it abended in exactly the same place again.

Any ideas!!??!? (I didn't have the time or energy to try it again last night, but I did run several housecleaning tasks (Norton SystemWorks, AdAware, Defrag, ...), as maybe that will make a difference.)

If it crashed at the same spot you could have a corrupt mpeg. Try burning the project to DVD folders and then play it with something like PowerDVD and see if you get the same result.
