Keeping track of used clips

Post by ericlast »

When I download my raw videos, I always have the program automatically break them down into the individual scene clips. However, as I insert the clips I want into my projects, there doesn't seem to be an indication of the clips I've used. (As a former Pinnacle Studio user, I remember that program inserting a small check mark on the clips as they were used from the library.)

Is there a way to get UVS8 to give a similar indication, so it's easier to keep track of the clips as they're used???

Thanks,

Eric

Hi

VS does not automatically mark your used clips.
But you can rename your video clips held in the library.
Click on the clip name to select it, you could maybe add a letter to the beginning of the name.
This does not change the main file name it only changes the thumbnail in the library.

One other possibility is to copy and paste the clips you use into another library pane called something like 'used clips' and then just delete the clips from the original library pane, again this does not affect the actual captured video file and if you do want to put them back into another project it's easy enough to move them again.
