Hi all-
I have uninstalled and reinstalled VS10+ after my video filters disappeared. Finished a project and burnt successfully to mpeg and then to DVD (using RP). Looked and sounded fine on both TV and PC. Made some minor changes and then realized that the project properties were set to 320x240 (AVI).
I should note that the little video consists of a combination of captured DV clips (*.avi), digital camera video clip files (*.avi), and .jpgs.
Fool that I am, I changed the project properties to 720x480 (AVI) and saved the file. Unfortunately, now the files in the project timeline have changed size, showing a thick black margin in the preview window. Same with any files from the album that I drop into the timeline. However, in a new project, all is well.
Any way to rescue this project... or do I have to recreate the whole thing? The project is only a total of about 5 minutes long, with videos and still photos, but represents lots of work.
Thanks for your input.

Just a long shot, but you could try deleting all temp files that VS may have created while working on your project. Then with your project open, highlight a clip, then select File>Relink. This may/may not have any affect on your current project. It might through relinking correct the problem.
Also check the folder that you have designated as the working folder. If there are any files located there, you could delete them, provided they are not originals that your project is linked to.
Never tried it, but just something that came to mind...

Ron, thank you for your great ideas. I may give it a try with the original file.
I worked on the project late last night and was able to recreate it. Ironically, the attribute that I was complaining about in the Wishlist section of this board turned out to be the feature that saved a LOT of work, namely the Library album setup. I was able to save each clip and photo to a new album in the library with all the customized pans and filters intact, save the multitrimmed clips as new and separate video clips and insert them all en mass in order into a new file. Since it was a relatively short video, I copied and pasted screen shots of the storyboard and timeline into MS Word as a guide with all the clip durations noted and timeline locations where the different music samples started and ended.
I guess I'm feeling pretty clever and thought I would share it, especially since my husband's reponse before he zoned out was, "Are you talking about computers....?!".......
Course, if your idea works, that would be even better!
Thanks again.

storyboard
I find it's a good method to help planning the project too (printing out the storyboard), especially planning the sound track after inserting the video track. I tend to think better sketching with a pencil in my hand.
