PI very slow compared to PS?

Post by Berit »

As written in another topic just now, - I'm having problems using RAW, - so I downloaded
a trial of PS.

Wow...! The speed. Whatever I do in PS it's many many times faster than doing the
same thing in PI. I mean the time my PC process. It this the same for you? Or
am I the only one with this problem?

I don't have a recent version of PS, however see no significant difference. Are you advertising for Adobe? Let me clarify that question, since your previous post, concerning problems with contacting Ulead, this posts appears to be promotional for Adobe.

What a silly remark. No I'm not promoting anything, - I'm asking to find out.
Is it black or white? PI OR PS ? I would love to own PS but I cannot afford it.
PI is a great program for a low cost, - if anything I have promoted PI to friends...!!!!!

I finally was able to create a new account och downloaded the upgrade, - so now
RAW works just fine in PI.

My trial of PS ran out today, - facts remains, - it was a lot faster on my laptop than PI.

I would love to get tips on how to get PI to run faster.

Indeed.

Must add some information.

It's when I work with full-size pictures. Often I make ready for the web, - and it that case
I re-size first and then edit. That works just fine.

I would like to work more with RAW, - but that is very slow to prosess. One pic can easily take
1 minute. (New laptop, 2 Gb RAM) ! In PS it took 2-3 sec.

As I said any tips is highly appreciated. :)
