progaram crashing

On a site recommended in this forum I downloaded a spacecraft model.I have tried several times to open the 3ds file but each time I try I get the Micrsoft message saying" it needs to close this program" http://www.max-realms.com/modules/wmpdo ... php?cid=19
Could someone explain why this should happen please?

I should have made it clear that it is the Space station model that causes the crash on my computer.Has anyone successfully downloaded and installed this item in Cool 3d?

As usual, I would say use DeepExploration to convert the 3DS file first....

It is a 3ds file which Cool 3d can usually open without trouble.Other models on the same web page marked as 3ds open without any problems.Deep Exploration is surely only needed if I wanted to convert a 3d Max file.
