How to edit in hard drive?

Post by CFELIX52 »

Have a quick question. I have a movie that is in my hard drive. When I go into the folder I have Video Ts/Audio TS. If I try to import this file into ULead Movie Factory, it gives me an error. I suspect that it is because its not in a Video format? Any one else do this, is it possible to edit a movie in your harddrive and then burn to DVD afterwards? How do you do it?

You need to click on the DVD disc, Import DVD Video or DVD-VR Files. Then navigate to the Video_TS folder, select and click OK. Then in the window that opens, place a checkmark beside the Title and/or chapters you want to import. These are located in the left pane.

I dont see exactly what you wrote there.. I have Movie Factory 5. I only have a Import button from the Launcher 5.0 Window. I click on Import, I have two options, Capture from Devices or Import from DVD. I selected Import from DVD, where it gives me a window and options to Import from DVD Folder or Import or Close. I Select Import From DVD Folder, Select the Video TS file and click ok. Then it looks as though it is loading, when I get a error: Failed to Read DVD Information Report Id 0x80040901(2305).
Incidentally, I did burn this to my drive using DVd Shrink(I have no other program to burn to my drive)
What am I doing wrong?

Ok read this and see if it may cure your problem. I had a similar issue not to long ago, however it was with VS10..

May have found a way by accident

Post by CFELIX52 »

I tried and tried to find what you were pointing to, but to no avail. So I just started digging to see what I could do.
I found a way to do it, by using add video clips. I was able then to pull it out of my hard drive and into DVD Movie factory. I had four videos, but quickly found out that I could join them. This should work. I see at the bottom however that my green bar that shows me how much disc space it will take, is going into the yellow. I am hoping once I am done adding my menus that I can save it in my hard drive and then use DVD Shrink to compress so it will fit on disc. This is now my major concern.

It would have been nice to just use the "Import" button, but not sure why it wont work, but at least I found a way around it, I hope.
Thanks for your help.
