Mising audio from final DVD

Hello, I use Pictureshow 3 . I tried importing MP3s into my slide show and it however seems to accept it (ie I can drag it to the audio track) but either during the final preview and in final DVD, there is NO audio or seems to miss it.

is this a known problem? Is there a work around? I have NOT yet rried converting files into WAV and tried but will do so
