bent tube 1/2 hulahoop object creation query

you`d think this would be easy with all these tools at my disposal. No i cannot
create a bent tubular steel object, half hula hoop shape! can You?

Add a cylinder object... Change the object's dimensions to your liking in the Attribute Panel under "Geometric Objects." In my little test, I used Top Radius 2, Bottom Radius 2, height 100.

Apply the Bend effect #3. Delete the key frame for the last frame. Go back to the first frame, and change the Bend attributes thus:
Level: 25
Cutting Point can be left at 50, and direction as x-z, symmetric.

You will now have half a hula hoop.

You will, of course, have to tweak things to get it the size you want, etc.

thanks for being there viking animations. Yes, I was in fact attempting this technique, but i was resizing the object by dragging the xyz resize tool which I see does not resize the true length of he cylinder. So once again you put me right. Cheers!

Thought I might try your little tutorial but you lost me at "Add a cylinder object" I can add a lathe object but where are cylinder objects?

That would be the "geometric" object.
