The file that I used was usv10_SP1_5in1.exe, so it was not the TBYB one.
Working without the patch again, I used the method that Trevor Andrew sugested and added the time codes for my chapter points in the burn module.
I made 5 chapters that I want to use in my main menu. After entering those chaper points I pressed OK and there was only one clip left; that was the clip for the whole file. So I crossed "Create menu".
I wanted a menu that stays on the screen when I put the DVD in the machine. From here I want to choose between those 5 chapters.
However, when I press Next there is a choice between a main menu (without chapters) and a project menu with the five chapters. I only want the latter as a thumbnail menu from the gallery. In preview step I get only the main menu with a moving scene, I couln't find the thumbnail menu. The chapter points were still there because I could swith to next or previous chapters on my preview control.
So my simple question now is, how to achieve my purpose.
Chapter points from project to DVD

After you create your chapter points in the Burn Module, click the Next button. That takes you to the Menu area where you have a Gallery & Edit tabs. Click on the Edit tab. About halfway down, on the left is the Advanced Settings button. Click that, then uncheck Add Title Menu. Now you should just have a menu with your chapter thumbnails.

I discovered this feature during edit last night. I thought it was great being able to add chapter points during edit. Then i searched and found this thread. As I create video files before creating discs my joy turned to despair. I did go to the download even though i thought i already had SP1. Turns out that the new one on the download site is actually SP1.5 and it doesnt fix the chapter point issue. Maybe theres no standard for storing chapter data in mpeg files? They could put it in the upd and access that during the author phase maybe. I found another problem as i tried to create a disc from my project (vsp) file to see how the chapter points work. I had named all of the chapter points during edit but even though it did pick them up, it lost all the names i gave them and just had "chapterxxx". So i guess that goes on the wishlist!
