VS9 Audio file location?

Post by erock1 »

After searching and reading countless threads I haven't been able to find discussion on where VS9 places audio files that have been seperated from the captured video.

Problem: I have captured video that I have seperated the audio from. I want to use an external audio program (the audio filters that VS9 come with are fairly useless for this) to try and remove unwanted wind noise from. My problem is I can't find where VS9 is placing the seperated audio files on my HDD.

Sidebar to anyone familiar with Sound Soap: The audio program I'm trying to use is Bias' Sound Soap. While this program is a VST, I can't seem to get it to work properly as a plugin. When I use Sound Soaps' learn noise" function, it only plays a second segment of the audio, not enough to learn the noise. I'm hoping being able to use Sound Soad as a stand-along program will have a better result.

TIA,
Erock

If you are using the "Split Audio" option on a video clip I think you will find that it does NOT create a seperate sound file - look at the name of the audio block in the audio track - you will see that it has the name of the video clip - not a .wav file name. When you use the "Split Audio" the block in the audio track is just a link back to the sound in the video clip, which is actually still in the video and can be restored by 'un-muting' the video clip.

In order to produce a .wav file that you can export to an external sound editing programme you need to use the "Share >> Create Sound File" option - this will put the file in the "Working Folder" defined by you in your "Preferences"

Brian,
thank you for the speedy reply. I will try this when I get home. No wonder I have never been able to find the split audio file

THanks again,
Erock :D
