SCREEN-CAPTURE ?

Post by cosmo777 »

Hello all,
I have seen some great effects on training videos, where people have been green-screened into the on-screen of the program that they are talking about- eg, walking around the menu/screens of Photoshop, After Effects, Video Studio etc etc. I think it's a fantastic effect !! Wow.

I don't need help with the green-screening, but I do need help in how to make a " screen-capture " ( which will be my intended background ).

Tried the PrtScrn SysRq button, but nothing happened.
Can anyone help ?
Many thanks

For screen capturing you can use as you stated, the built in CTL + PRT SCR, then you need to open your favorite image editing program, and go to Edit Paste. The CTL +PRT SCR just captures the screen to the clipboard. You can also use any one of the many screen capturing utilities found on the web. I happen to use FastStone Capture. It's a great freebie program.

Thanks Ron,
I will try Fastone.
Ron, I FORGOT to mention-how do they do the " moving captures " on instructional videos ? eg when you see the mouse click on menu's, which open up, etc etc. Do they actually film the movements with a camera ?
That's all I can think of.
Thank you, Ron.
Regards.

Most of the animated tutorials are done using Adobe Captivate. I have done some with freebie programs such as DebugMode's Wink, or Camstudio.
