Main menu music problem

Post by tecstar »

i have set an audio file as background music on my main menu.
I have not clicked the Loop Audio button, and have set the Menu duration as 30 sec and Loop Count as infinite.
I thought this would play the music once and continuing looping the menu in silence, however it keeps repeating the music as well.
BTW, i haven't burnt the disc yet, im testing it in the Finish screen.

How can I get what I want.
ie: Background music file plays only once then the menu continues to loop infinitely.
Thanks.

What you need to remember is that your menu is essentially a "video." In other words, even though we may think of it as a still-shot, it's playing as a video on the DVD (this is much easier to see for menus with video thumbnails or background video).

So when you add your background music to the menu, and set the duration of the menu to 30 seconds, it's as if the movie will simply just go back to the beginning every 30 seconds, music and all.

If the menu has no video or anything like that... does it need to loop? You could have a 30-second clip of music play out, and let the menu sit there waiting for user interaction.

Or at the end of the 30 seconds with audio it can automatically be fowarded to a looping silent menu.

Thanks skier, that was my get-around. Whats the best way to forward it to a silent menu? the only way I can see to do this is the After Loop/Timeout button, but this seems to require an active button on the menu screen, which will be selectable for the first 30 seconds.
