My 21" CRT is starting to falter. Little white lines showing diagonally across the screen.
Doing more and more video work as well as PhotoShop and design, do people feel that flat panel monitors have come along enough to replace a CRT for over all color and sharpness?
Figuring a budget of $500 as a replacement, what would you be looking at. Dell, believe it or not, seems to have one of the highest rated LCD out there. (http://reviews.search.com/search?q=Moni ... oogle-cnet) with their 24 inch. That's a bit to large but they also have a 20" as does ViewSonic highly rated.
Bottom line, CRT or LCD in this price range for graphics and video?
New Monitor - LCD / CRT?

I have had a few ViewSonics, at work as well as at home. They are great.
However, for video work, I still prefer the baulky CRT's. Better refresh rates make for better viewing of video images.
For images, go for the ViewSonic if the price is right. For video, if you need to get a flat panel, go for the highest contrast ratio and the shortest refresh rate you can afford.
