Subtitle and size

a. I did not found the unit (is it pixel, mm, ..?) of the size for titles.
b. What is the recommended size for subtitling (readable on TV)?

I believe it's the same as for most any type size setting in word processing programs, which is a "point size" that really doesn't mean all that much. I know that different fonts can appear at very different sizes even when set to the same value, so you really have to go by how it looks to you.

For the same reason, there's no "recommended size" since I've found it depends a lot on the particular font. I've found that, working on the PC screen, I tend to make my titles a bit too big for when they are showing on a full-size TV screen, but on the other hand, the TV does not show characters all that clearly.

My recommendation is to buy a couple of DVD-RWs and render a short project or two to try it out for yourself. :)
