Vista Patch into the Full version

Please forgive me if this question has been asked and answered before.

Everything I'm reading talks about upgrading to Vista. What about those who will be using the full stand-alone versions of Vista?

How will we be able to download the patch if Vista won't recognize Ulead in the first place?

I'm sure I must be missing something.
