DVD MF 2.5 SE

Post by astevenson »

 Hi
Can anyone please help?
I am capturing analogue video thro a PCI Card which is a WinFast TV2000 XP card. All goes well till I stop capture whence the program "hangs" the only way I can get back to normal is to close the program (without saving) using Windows Task Manager as the Keyboard and Mouse freeze. Its a bit depressing that I can't even get to the good part of editing and creating a DVD.

Here's hoping

This won't fully solve your problem but why not capture with whatever software that came with your capture card, then load it into MF to edit and create dvd's.

I have the an Adstech DVDXpress and I capture with the software that came with it. Then I load it into MF or VS (depending on the amount of editing I need to do) and create my dvd's.

I use the same card Leadtek TV 2000 Expert.
I just started using MovieFactory to capture with, and I'll tell you why.
At first I used the the Winfast PVR software. I used a default setting that implied dvd compliant format, but that was not. So I struggled as a newbie until I learned more.

Alan, please supply more information to allow us to help you.
Machine specs, other programs running in the background,
what settings in MF you are using for the capture, etc.

Here the link to the ULEAD site with faqs
http://www.ulead.com/learning/learning.htm

Locate the latest patches there too....optimize your machine, apply the patches and try a 2 minute or so short capture. In my experience, a little after capturing is normal, then I click on the back button and go back and look at my capture and trim anything out I want to.

Get those patches installed ASAP - it made a huge difference for me.
Good luck!

I use the same LeadTek WinFast TV2000 XP Export card to capture also. When I capture my video with it in my DVDMF 3, it also hangs. But after I updated the driver from LeadTek, the problem is solved. Maybe you can check the website of LeadTek for updated driver to see if it fixes.

LeadTek - Supports - Driver Download:

And, I think DVDMF 2.5 SE should be the latest version of DVDMF 2 and will not need any patches. Maybe I'm wrong....

Hope this helps.
