Has anyone received this problem before. What are the likely sources of this. What have you done about it. Ihave tried to resize my project as well as change project properties to no avail. Please help.

PS This has never happened with VS9 and 8

Nature of the problem:
Above message showing up as soon as the burn process is through with the menu conversion part of its work (about 12% of the project.

Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?)

What devices are involved and their mode of connection?
Computer only at this stage

Project Settings

Lower Field First
(DVD-NTSC), 16:9
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 6250 kbps) (to make project fit on DL DVD - tried this at original size and gave same error)

This error message can be the result of a myriad of problems, usually when converting something in your menu, such as a motion menu, motion thumbnail, menu buttons overlapping, etc. It will take a process of elimination to find what is causing the problem.

BTW, what's wrong with the Habs?

Thanks Black Lab. I am not that big a fan of hockey myself, but I can tell you the players are tired. It's compromising the second half of the season.

So are you saying I should just not over customize my menus.

On this video I have one main menu pointing to 5 sub menus each containing between 9 and 12 scenes. All menus use the same background picture and music (Ulead originals), buttons, and button placement. The Main menu is a scene menu, but not the sub menus. I am not using Menu-in or Menu-out effects and have ticked off all motion menus. I have changed the positions of the scenes' picture and related titles on some of the pages for esthetics reasons. Nothing very sophisticated.

With VS 9 I was able to do a lot more than this without a glitch.

No, I'm not saying you can't "over customize" your menu, but, it seems with more customization comes the chance of more problems. You state that you moved around some of the pictures and titles. I would make sure none of them are overlapping.

Like I said earlier, use trial and error to find out what's wrong. Take out the music and see if it burns. Change the background picture, etc.. You get the idea. The problem with that message is it lacks the detail of what is causing the problem. Unfortunately it is up to you to find it. (BTW, burn to a DVD folder or an RW disc to avoid a collection of coasters.)

I thought everyone in Montreal was a hockey fan. I'm 44 and, even though I live near Philadelphia, I've been a Montreal fan since I was about 10 or 11. This past November I finally realized one of my dreams and attended a game at the Bell Center. It was a lot of fun (even though the Habs lost to the Flyers  ). You have a beautiful city.
