Photo Explorer nOT Supported in Vista
Not that I am going anywhere near Vista, but can someone explain why Photo Explorer would not be supported in Vista? I realize that Cool360 is an old and discontinued product but why PE?
This the 2nd Ulead product that has had to shed features/be neutered to earn the "work with Vista" badge of dishonor!
Makes me even more repulsed toward Vista than I already am !

I think we can only speculate as to why. This could be a decision of Corel, not to develop it any further, and possibly phase it out. Corel has numerous photo exploring, editing applications, so what better justification to phase out a product. (Keep in mind this is as stated above purely speculation). It could also be a ploy of MS, to make it difficult for developers to upgrade their products, so they might grab a bigger share of the markets, again just guessing.
MS is no longer just an OS company, they have entered into the application arena, with their MSN Live search engine, Digital Image Suite, MS Picture It,
and MS Expression. If MS gets its way, all applications would start with MS..
Why??? (borrowing from Walter Cronkite)..that's the way it is...

That's what VISTA is all about. MS has been slammed by european courts and fined millions of Euros for not making sufficient source code available to 3rd party software developers. It's all about cementing MS's dominance of the PC market. I wouldn't touch Vista with a 10 foot barge pole.vidoman wrote:I think we can only speculate as to why. .....It could also be a ploy of MS, to make it difficult for developers to upgrade their products, so they might grab a bigger share of the markets, again just guessing.

I'm using Vista Ultimate Final 64bit, and I don't have any problems with the ufo files, so maybe the issues fixed with Vista Final. But I cannot load my custom Easy Palette with all my design presets, so this is making me not be able to use it. It really sucks, and it seems there is not very much help on the forums from ulead. Hopefully ulead turns it up a notch and gets in gear.GKDantas wrote:Hi folks...everybody get the problem with UFO files resolved under Vista?? I am still using the RC1 (only next month to get my final release) and here the trouble is the same with the patch...
Taiwan FTP still down
Why do they host it on one machine only?
Slowly I am starting to think they want to repell their customers on purpose.
