I did the extended test and also downloaded a different test, memtest86, and it passed that memory test.
I have a Sony Vaio with 2 older sets of 256 and 2 newer sets of 512 memory. If I install new memory, is there any hope that my programs will start? If it is a conflict, it won't make any difference I think. I uninstalled my Webroot Spy Sweeper (which has interfered with other programs in the past) to see if it could possibly be the problem. It didn't help.
I have 3 folders for virtual memory set at maximum. I did get a hold of ULEAD support people, but I need to call them back as the things they told me to try (disabling all virus, spyware, etc.) didn't work. They did tell me that was just the first step. I actually thought they were very helpful. Hopefully this can be resolved soon as it's driving me crazy that I have these expensive programs that I can't even open.

PI 12 .ufo files
Yea! I figured it out! Happy day! Follow this link to see it was Windows XP DEP setting. I added Video Studio and problem was solved. Now I have to reinstall my other programs and try this with them.

Hi,fortemac wrote:I really need to be able to see the files in Windows Explorer, but I can get around it of course by using my only functioning program, Photo Explorer 8.6. I really think the new Windows update fried my ULEAD products, and I am very frustrated as I need them for work!
Thank you for any help you can give.

No, I still cannot get the .ufo thumbnails to show up. All the other stuff is fixed, but I haven't reinstalled my Photo Explorer yet. I get around it by opening up PI and using the browse manager. I wish I could get it to work as there's alot more time involved in searching through .ufo files for the right one. I would love to know why some peoples files are affected and others are not. That last update messed up my Windows DEP settings, and it did not affect others though, so who knows?
