Within VS10 plus, is it possible to only capture an audio portion of a clip and leave the video out entirely?

Capturing Audio?

I don't think so, but if capture the A/V file, you can ago the Share tab and extract the audio to a WAV file.
If you are capturing analog audio, you can record it through your PC's Line-In jack with audio recording software, or with a WAV editor like Audacity or GoldWave. (Actually, I think Windows has audio recording built-in now, but I've been using GoldWave for a long time, and I haven't tried it.)

Yeah... That's what I was trying to say. If you've already captured, go to the Share tab and create an audio file. I've forgotton the exact details, and I don't have Video Studio on this machine... But, I've done it a few times.Yes, but can't the captured what-ever, vob, mpeg
also be saved into avi from within the program and then be extracted
or have I missed something?

Good Morning Ken,
It’s nice to talk to you again.
Yes, I recognize that part of what you’re saying but can you
take me a step further?
Lets say within the movie or program there is a specific “Phrase”
or speech that you wish to capture.
From inside the program and with said file put into the storyboard, then
edit the clip down to the part you wish to save as audio and then go through the procedure that you just outlined?
I am wondering how people create those “wav” files that you see all over the Internet when they somehow capture what a movie star is saying down to a single short wav file.

Hi
To Save section as a Wav file.
I would Cut the video at the required points using the scissors.
Drag the selected section to the library, creating a copy.
Start a new project, drag the sample from the library to the timeline.
Share- Create Sound File.
A thumbnail of the sound file will be placed in the library.
Use this in any project.
Regards
