VideoStudio 9 Registration/Licensing Question

Post by lmadsen »

I have a licensed copy of VS 9 which I purchased right after it was released. I am building a new computer specifically for video editing and want to use VS 9 on that system (I don't really have a need yet to upgrade to VS 10) and "retire" it from my current system

The problem - I can find the VS 9 manual (with my serial number recorded in it) and bonus CD but, I can't find my program installation CD. However, I still had the VS 9 trial download on my current computer. I thought I could just install that on my new machine and turn it into a registered copy using my valid serial number. I can't find any way to do that. It starts up as a trial good for 30 days after which I need to purchase and register to keep using. OK, that's what I expected. I tried to go into the Buy Now link in Help thinking I could enter my serial number there. It says order.hlp is missing. I have searched through the extracted files from the trial download and cannot find this file. Thinking I was real clever, I reset the date on my computer to 30+ days into the future forcing the trial to expire. I thought the expired trial would prompt me to enter a serial number or provide a purchase link. Nope, it just has Exit button and a notification that I have 0 days left in the trial. Now I have no way into the program. Other than reformatting my hard drive to get rid of hidden trial period files buried deep in the registry, any other viable suggestion suggestions for turning my trial into a licensed copy? Of course, the real solution is to find my VS 9 program installation CD. I just don't know where else to look :(

If you registered your full copy of UVS9 then it will be recorded on the Ulead system and you need to contact Tech Support and explain your problem - they will then give you a link to download and install V9 on your new computer.

Thanks.

Yes, I did register my retail copy of VideoStudio 9. I verified that it shows up as registered on the Ulead site and I have contacted support.
