Video Studio 10 crashed and won't reboot

Post by Luminous »

The subject pretty much says it all. I am a new user. I would appreciate help troubleshooting the problem from someone with experience.

8) What should we base any advice on, in your opinion?

Possibly you might pm me and ask me some specific quesitons to start the troubleshooting investigation. I'm inexperienced, so I'm not sure where to start.

[quote] Video Studio10 crashed and won't re-boot.

Hi, is it your PC that won't re-boot or is it VS10 that doesn't start.
If it's the latter do you have a 'Trial' a 'Download' or a full 'Retail Boxed Version'
and did you have VS10 running succesfully before this happened.

My computer is fine. It is VS10 that won't boot. Every path I try to open it - desk top Icon, Start Menue, clicking on a file from explorer, nothing happens, and I mean NOTHING.

I am running a trial download that should have 9 days left to go. Even if it was past the trial date, at least the splash screen with the activation button should appear, but it doesn't. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Totally dead.

Up until today I have successfully edited 4 short videos that all turned out beautifully. You can view 3 of them here:

I love the program and I want to buy it, but I want to make sure this is not an insurmountable problem first.

There do seem to be a number of problems that people experience with the 'Trial' versions if you contact 'Ulead' they may have a fix or provide another download.

You'll usually find that if a Programme doesn't respond at all it's best to remove and re-install.

This may be a small consolation but you will find the full version is far more stable and if you buy the 'Boxed Retail Version' you have the option of a 'Repair' as well as a Full installation.

I did un- install and reinstall. I even downloaded a fresh copy and tried reinstalling. I even tried to repair, which was an option in my "install new software" interface. Still no change. I guess tomorrow I will give Ulead a call. Hopefully they can help me find a solution.
