Noise appears with transition

Help please, I've almost completed my first project, but as one clip ends and the transition comes in, there is a split second of background noise - I've tried to get to rid of it (and thought I'd been successful), but with no luck - any ideas? I'm running VideoStudio 10.

background noise, audio or video? audio backround noise, well, it's audible, video background noise, that could be anything from black dots to dashed lines..

??
