Vpaint.exe message

Post by Gra »

Hi Guys

I've imported a Cool3dPS file into an MSP eight project and tried to open it using the 'open in associated programme' command. When I do, all I get is an error 'Vpaint.Exe not found'. I've tried linking Cool3DPS as well in the preferences 'associated programme' tab but still the same error.

Anyone had this problem or know what the solution is??
Thanks & regards.

vpaint.exe did not come included with MSP8 -- it was part of an addon package called VGL (Video Graphics Lab). Do you have VGL installed? Or do you have an earlier version of MSP that did include a version of VideoPaint :?:

Hi George

Thanks, I had VideoPaint with MSP7 and when I upgraded to MSP eight I bought VGL separately and installed it. But shouldn't the associated programme go to what I've linked in the preferences (in this case C3DPS)?
Thanks & regards.

oops, sorry I misunderstood

It should go to what you associated, but I don't have Cool3dPS to try it.
Hopefuly, someone with Cool3DPS can try it to see if it works for them.

Are your other "associations" working?

George

No probs.

I can use the switch button to go between relevant programmes (VP,c3d, etc). The problen occurs when I right click to open a clip (e.g. a c3d file) in an 'associated programme' that I have the problem.
Thanks & regards.

If I understand your question, you want the C3D file to open in Cool3DPS and not VideoPaint? Sounds like the C3D file type has been associated with VideoPaint on your system. To change the file association for C3D files, follow the instructions here.
