Unable to switch to capture mode VS10

I can capture from my DV camera OK but if I try to capture from S Video, TV or analog I dont get the preview schreen and I get the following warning,
Unable to switch to capture mode
Check if your video capture driver is working properly

I can capture these from Windows moviemaker and from my TV Wonder 650 card just fine.
