Slides with >1 second duration

Is there a way in DVD Wkshp 2 to lower a slides duration and transition below 1 second each?
Also the fit to audio check box only lights up when the clips and transition duration are going to be 1 sec. or higher each. You can stretch out the duration but not decrease it.

Seems that what you want is not a slideshow but something artifical. Better tools for such work will be msp or videopaint.
