MPEG display screwed up
I can't get version 2SE or 3SE to display MPEG video properly. SVCD rate shows a huge horizontal color shift and VCD is just totally scrambled. It does burn to disk ok. If I turn Direct Draw Acceleration off, it usually works, but this prevents me from using Video Overlay mode with any program. Not an acceptable solution. The video in this Laptop is Mobile ATI 9600, 64 Mb, DirectX 9.0C. I use a Hauppauge Pvr2 Usb2 card and WinTV 2000 to create video, but the problem occurs with almost all MPEG video. Any ideas?

1. Can the MPEG video be played in Windows Media Player properly??
2. Do you update the drivers for the capture devices??
3. ATi does not offer official drivers for mobile systems, what display card driver do you update??
Maybe you can try the unofficial driver for ATi mobile display in http://www.omegadrivers.net . However, it's an unofficial driver so ATi will not provide any tech support on it.
Hope this helps.

1. MPEG is fine (except for aspect ratio- displays 480 x 480 as square) in WinAmp & WMP, perfect in PowerDVD.htchien wrote:1. Can the MPEG video be played in Windows Media Player properly??

2. I've tried it with a lot of different generations of Hauppauge software. Problem also shows up in downloaded MPEG's.
3. Updated drivers from Arima site and/or Gateway site (laptop is eMachines m6805, from Arima, same as Gateway 7422)
