How to save pre-burn settings

Post by Bojan1983 »

Is there a way to save those settings you make before pressing burn button?

I have made a movie and I want to make many copies, do I have to every single time choose which menu, which menu layout, background music etc?...

i hope not...

When you burn a DVD -- you can burn an IMAGE file (or the DVD Folders) to your hard drive. Then when you want to make additional copies, you simply burn the IMAGE to disc. You can also use software DVD Players to watch the DVD from the DVD Folders (such as WinDVD or PowerDVD, etc...). This lets you "test everything" before burning to actual disc...

This brings up a question I had.

I can create a disk (DVD) and I can also Create DVD Folders or an ISO.

So, if I create DVD folders I think I can copy those to a DVD as data and have another DVD copy quick and easy. If that is so, what will the ISO version do for me.

Or maybe a better question, if I want to be able to make more DVD's from a project which is better to use, Create DVD Folders or Create Disk Image. I guess I don't fully understand the difference as far as making more DVD copies.

The files inside the VIDEO_TS folder need to be burned properly for DVD-VIDEO. So simply burning them as "Data" will not always work -- it depends on whether the burning software you are using will be "smart enough" to recognize and burn it properly for DVD-VIDEO. So, if you have a choice, use the DVD-VIDEO (or equivalent) mode if you plan to burn from DVD Folders (instead of burning a DVD DATA disc).

The IMAGE file contains everything needed -- files in the correct "sequence", and perhaps also a personal folder you plan to include on your DVD. So if you plan to burn multiple copies, it's easier to just use the IMAGE file. That's not to say using DVD Folders is wrong -- as long as you are aware that when you go to burn the folders, they need to be burned properly for DVD-VIDEO...

I have just finished with testing what you wrote here...

at the "burn disc" screen, i checked "create image" and file "dvd.iso" was created... (and dvd.iso.adp also)

Then i clicked on it and automaticly opens me some kind of burning software which gives me option to burn it... when i burned it -> dvd not working...

so, what should i ve done with that dvd.iso to get working dvd?

What kind of burning software? Ulead supplies software for burning iso files. From Windows go to Start>All Programs>Ulead VideoStudio (version) VCD DVD Disc Image Recorder. From there, click on Open and navigate to your iso file.

You can also use another program that you may already have on your system, such as Nero.
