VS 10 trial cannot start after installation on Vista!

Post by apworld »

Goodmorning!
I just downloaded and installed Ulead Video Studio 10 on Windows Vista.
The installation was ok, but when I launched the program, I only receive the error message "Limit users can not try this product. You can use normally after successful activation.".
Obviously I was logged in into Windows Vista as the system administrator.
How can I try this "Vista certified" product if it is impossible to run it?
Thanks for your help.

This is a problem with Vista's UAC (User Account Control). Go to the Control Panel, User Account and uncheck the User Account Control.

Also I read the Notes listed on Ulead's Update patch for Vista. They do have a Vista patch for VS10, however it will not work on TBYB versions. The TBYB version must be activated, meaning you must purchase it before the patch will install.

Some other very important information concerning VS and Vista:
NOTEs:
  • Windows Vista and the Windows logo are trademarks or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries
  • This Update Pack is for Ulead® VideoStudio® 10/10 Plus (BOX, ESD, UPG, and activated TBYB ) version.
  • This Update Pack cannot be uninstalled.
  • Since Video for Windows (VFW) is not supported in Vista, VFW codecs such as Indeo, Cinepak are not supported in Vista. The video content files provided by VideoStudio will now be encoded using .WMV instead of Indeo codecs.
  • Some 3D transition effects that won¡¦t be supported on Vista are removed from current release, including: Flying Board, Flying Cube, Flying Flip, Flying Fold, and Folding Box. Some templates under "Album", "Flash Light" and "Mask" transition effect are also not supported.
  • WDM devices are not supported by Vista. Thus, not supported by VideoStudio.
  • WMV and MPEG 4 format CAPTURE is not supported.
  • MOV and MPEG 4 formats are not supported in this version.
  • WinDVD 7, PocketDV show, and Cool3D are not supported .
