Difference PhotoImpact 12 /12SE

Post by balli09 »

Hello an good Morning!

I am from Germany and that is my first posting. First of all sorry for
my English - it is not as good as it should be.

I have a problem and i hope you can help me - my father bought a
book to learn something about Digital Photographie. Ther was PhotoImpact 8SE with it, but he lost the CD...

I want to surprise him and buy the software, but i think 8SE is an older
version and it should be better to buy version 12. Is this right?

Now i found two versions - PhotoImpact 12 and 12SE
But i don愒 understand the difference.

I hope you can help me.

Thank愀 a lot an best regards from Germany!

Welcome to the forums, Ballio,

First the difference between a full version and an SE is that the SE versions are Simple Editions. They usually are bundled with some sort of hardware, like a video card. They are tweaked by the manufacturer of the hardware to work with that piece of hardware. They are most often free. The benefit of an SE version is that they can qualify you for an upgrade price on a full version. The SE versions may have some features disabled.

Next just for your information, forum member Georg has a German version of this help forum. It can be accessed through the following link.

Hope that helps..
